        On the Oct. 26th, Zhang Shaokang, Director of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Guangdong Province，Allen Payne, President of Bartlett School of London University and their parties arrived at our institute for academic exchanges.

        Chief Engineer Ma Xiangming chaired the exchange forum. At the meeting, experts and professors of Bartlett School shared their major views from perspectives of establishment of real estate institute, urban renewal and intelligent city construction by focusing on the theme of how to create, reserve, enhance and measure urban space values. Both parties made in-depth exchanges about study on real estate policies, value creation and maintenance about urban renewal, etc.

        Director Zhang Shaokang expressed warm welcomes to professionals and leaders of Bartlett School for their visiting Guangzhou. He said that as the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China came to a successful close, the blueprint about future development has been drawn. As one of China’s largest provinces in population and economy, Guangdong faces problems such as lack of natural resources. The subsequent development may rely on urban renewal to a large extent so we must create greater values through urban renewal. Urban planning and construction is not merely about physical space. It must be combined with citizen needs and social governance. Zhang said that urban planning, social governance, data application, intelligent city and real estate study are all contents and directions of our main works. In the future, we can strengthen communications and cooperations through different means and methods.

 

        More than 50 people including Chief Planner Li Yongjie of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Guangdong Province, comrades from Planning Department, Real Estate Department, Office, Secretary Qian Zhongqiang of our institute, Vice-President Wang Ruli, Chief Engineer Ma Xiangming and relevant professional technicians attended the exchange forum.
