Project Features:

It is based on the idea of building Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao into a veritable global urban areas and an important carrier of China’s implementation of the strategy of globalization.


1. Put forward the three regional development goals of “a global economic community”, “quality living circle of international standards” and “multi-center governed innovation demonstration zone”.


2. Develop the regional pattern of balanced development and common prosperity, build a industrial pattern in gradient distribution with centralized development to form the multi-center network-based urban structure, constructing the smooth and multi-modal transport pattern and creating the ecological pattern of urban and rural integration with nature and humane reflecting each other.


3. The planning has also proposed “planning construction bay area”, “cultivating cross-border cooperation innovation area”, “creating livable urban and rural areas” and other nine recent actions.


4. The planning fully embodies the requirements of “planning and promoting the comprehensive integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao with world vision and strategic thinking”, which has been spoken highly of by Secretary Wang Yang. Later, “the Pearl River Delta region reform and development plan” developed by the National Development and Reform Commission has adopted the opinions and recommendations of the planning. Many ideas in the planning have become the consensus of the three governments of Guandong, Hong Kong and Macao and played a profound impact on promoting the integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
