The Housing Policy Research Center of Guangdong Province, which was established in 2015, is the housing policy research institution set up by Guangdong Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee. The center has a high-quality，professional research team, with professional coverage of human geography, urban planning, geographic information system, industrial economics and so on.

To take the housing development decision-making consultation as the main function

The main function of the center is to provide decision-making consultation and suggestions for Guangdong Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee; to undertake the preliminary investigation, operation analysis and drafting argumentation of the real estate development, housing security, housing provident fund and other related policies; to collect and accumulate the data, information and latest developments of real estate development, housing security and housing provident fund in cities at home and abroad and in the province and do analysis, market research and policy reserves; to maintain close cooperation with research institutions and industry experts in social related fields; to transform the achievements in the fields of urban economics and society, spatial development and others into policy arrangements to promote the development of urban housing.

To undertake the work of Guangdong Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee as the core business

Since its establishment, the center has actively cooperated with Guangdong Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee in work arrangement to carry out specific business related to housing development, including: to daily collect real estate transaction daily report data and write the public opinion bulletin of real estate market, and to monthly draw up real estate operation analysis monthly reports; to write special research reports irregularly according to the central government decision-making and real estate market dynamics; to participate in the provincial ministry’ work on the major investigation, and the formulation and research of polices; and so on. In addition, the center has also undertaken a number of research projects commissioned by Guangdong Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee, such as the Guangdong Province “13th Five-Year” Housing Development Planning, the Research on Renovation Planning of Shantytown in Guangdong Province, the Research on the Transformation and Upgrading of the Real Estate Industry in Guangdong Province, the Special Research on Housing Security Effectiveness in Guangdong Province, and Research on Monetization Reform of Housing Security in Guangdong Province.

To promote the linkage between provinces and cities with the advantage of provincial platform

While conscientiously completing the tasks assigned by Guangdong Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee, the center cooperates with the local departments of housing and urban-rural development, planning and housing management and actively participates in the research on the development of the real estate market, housing development planning, housing security planning and other research subjects in various cities. It has undertaken a number of research subjects, such as the Housing Development Planning of Shaoguan City (2016 -2030), the Huizhou city “13th Five-Year” Housing Security Planning, the Housing Security "13th Five-Year" Planning of Bao'an District in Shenzhen City, and the Research on the Current Situation and Development of Housing in Dongguan City. The center gives full play to the information and technology advantages of the provincial platform, and closely integrates the policies of the state and the province with the local development needs. The relevant results are highly recognized by the local government.
